Unlike iTulip, I do NOT see a transformation followed by a recovery starting in 2011-2015. Instead, as oil depletion turns from bad to worse, I see a total economic collapse following the depression, swiftly followed by martial law and a swift descent into Mad-Maxian hell as troops go AWOL due to not being paid or even fed, then terrorizing the populace.

An excellent job of pulling all the pieces of the puzzle together in a clear and concise commentary on the sad state of affairs. How we pick up the pieces is still not clear but rewarding and putting the same people in charge of the clean up that created the mess is certainly not the answer. Thanks Dave.

Just to mention before someone criticizes Mr. Cohen's piece as being more economic analysis than talking about energy, I found his piece to be easy-reading and, finally, one of the few articles that talked about energy issues and the general economy and finance together. Everyone knows they are intertwined, but so few writers talk about them at the same time. I have to scour a couple dozen websites daily and put the energy and economic information together myself, but it takes a LOT of time. Please keep it up. :)
