I cannot agree more with D.Erickson that population growth is a big if not bigger than Peak Oil. With today's population nudging 6.9 billion there is no sign of it slowing. Take a look at the UN figures for population growth rates and it will blow your mind. The Middle East and Africa are time bombs waiting to go off. Levelling out at 7.5 billion by 2020 is fiction. We could be at 7.5 billion by 2015 if growth is not curtailed. All population growth predictions to date have proven to be optimistic with growth exceeding prediction. Go to OPT

Poor countires have a abyssmal record of population control; look at Nigeria and this will not change. Even in the west the mention of population growth limits brings looks of disbelief and incredulity. The reality is we have no choice. Mass uncontrolled migration is already a reality and it will get worse, and will give rise to unprecedented civil unrest.

The crude reality is that we will probably populate ourselves to death and nature (not God or Allah) will solve the problem by mass starvation. When Peak Oil bites food production will be the main issue. We have already wrecked the oceans and we about to do the same to the land mass. Soil erosion, phopsorous dispersion and lack of potable water will finish us off.
