This was written when BP first discovered the well:

'BP was given a shares boost today after the group announced a "giant" oil discovery in the Gulf of Mexico.

The find was made at BP's Tiber well, which was drilled to a depth of more than 35,000 feet - making it one of the deepest wells ever drilled in the oil and gas industry, according to the firm.'

With news that oil is now leaking from cracks that cannot or are difficult to control in my mind means that Dr. M. King Hubbert was dead right in his prediction of peak oil and to exclude oil mined from deep under the sea. Which now means the age of peak oil has now arrived and the world will have to get use to an era of expensive hard to get oil.

He is lucky to be working for a wealthy company that can afford a lot of security. If he keeps making statements like that, he may need it.
