Robert Kanner Appointed Advisory Board Chair

ASPO-USA’s advisory board comprises an array of distinguished Peak Oil pioneers, experts, educators,  and leaders from a variety of disciplines.  The advisory board had been chaired, almost since its inception, by our dear friend Matthew Simmons until his untimely passing in 2010.  In Matt’s honor (and because of the large shoes he left to fill), the chair position had remained open until now.  We are pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Kanner as the new chair of the ASPO-USA advisory board.  Matt Simmons, his legacy, and our gratitude for his service, will be memorialized by recognizing him as chairman emeritus.

Mr. Kanner is president and CEO of Pubco Corporation, a multi-faceted business based in Cleveland, where he is also a prominent community leader.  Bob has been a long-time supporter and advisor to ASPO-USA, and previously served as vice-chair of the advisory board.  He represents a forward-thinking, broad-minded brand of business leadership, and we are pleased and honored to have the benefit of his experience and counsel.

Bob begins his tenure at a time when the advisory board is strengthening and expanding.  ASPO-USA’s network of experts, including the advisory board, has always been our most valuable asset.  We are working to leverage that expertise even more effectively, and as ASPO-USA’s work increasingly addresses the broader consequences of and responses to Peak Oil, we have been adding new experts and accomplished leaders to increase our capacity to gather and synthesize critical information.
