Bio: Al Bartlett is a retired Professor of Physics. He joined the faculty of the University of Colorado in Boulder in September 1950. His B.A. degree in physics is from Colgate University and his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in physics are from Harvard University. In 1978 he was national president of the American Association of Physics Teachers. He is a Fellow of the American Physical Society and of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. In 1969 and 1970 he was the elected Chair of the four-campus Faculty Council of the University of Colorado.
